Irene Hunt, 65, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed onto her heavenly home on May 11, 2011 at her residence, while surrounded by her family. Irene was born in Trenton, NJ on October 2, 1945, daughter of the late Burchel and Pokey Huff Colwell. She retired from General Devices of Indianapolis, IN in 1997. Though retired, it did not slow her down. She went on to serve her community by sitting on the Superior Court grand jury of Pulaski County for ten months. She was also a home health aide and was recently certified to be a Hospice volunteer. Irene was a member of Clifty Grove Baptist Church, loved singing for the Lord and volunteering for numerous charitable causes. Irene is survived by her husband, Clayton Hunt Sr. of Somerset, her children, Jennifer Hunt of Lexington, KY, Clayton Hunt Jr. of Somerset, Carter Couch of Falmouth, KY, Tony Couch of Indianapolis, IN, Dwayne Couch of Lebanon, KY, Delane Jo Davis of Greenwood, IN, Don Hunt of Shelbyville, IN, Dave & (Tammy) Hunt of Shelbyville, IN and Doug & (Donna) Hunt of Danville, IN, two sisters, Dee & (Coy) Wilkinson of Indianapolis, IN and Loretta & (Paul) Williams of Gravel Switch, KY, one brother, Floyd Colwell of North Vernon, IN, twelve grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Pulaski Funeral Home with her brothers in Christ, Pastor Scotty Nix and Buddy Barnette officiating. Irene will be laid to rest at Randall Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 PM to 8 PM Friday at Pulaski Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
