Mrs. Edith Jones

Edith Spencer Jones, daughter of the late Jeff and Pheobe Jane Spencer, was born in Blackie, Kentucky on June 13, 1922 and she departed this life on Saturday, April 2, 2011 surrounded by her family and having attained the age of 88 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Charlie Jones on April 25, 1947, he preceded her in death on April 3, 2008. She is survived by one son, Charles (and Judy) Jones and two grandchildren, Melinda (and Darren) Robertson and Derek (and Kelli) Jones; two great grandchildren, Mekyla Jones and Katelyn Robertson; one brother, Eli (and Lucille) Spencer and her best friend and caregiver, Linda Smith. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel “S.C.” Spencer and Acie Spencer, and three sisters, Martha Spencer, Opal Bailey and Ruth Litteral. Edith was a kind lady who will be greatly missed by all who knew her, she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. Funeral services for Edith Jones will be held at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 with Rev. Stanley Sears officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery in Mt. Victory, KY. The family of Edith Jones will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2011 until time for services.
