Henry E. Neely, Jr.

Henry E. Neely, Jr., 76 of Somerset, passed away Monday, April 16, 2007 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Lexington, Kentucky on October 28, 1930, son of the late Dorthy and Henry Neely, Sr. Mr. Neely was retired and enjoyed his family, cooking out on the porch, being with friends at the coffee shop and he was a kind and generous person to all people. He was a member of High Street Baptist Church in Somerset. He was a graduate of Somerset High School and attended Bellarmine College in Louisville. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving as an Aviation Machinist's Mate E. Airman Apprentice. He was a member of the American Legion Post #38 and a Master Mason of Lodge #111. He was a Somerset City Council member from 1980 - 1985 and retired from Cumberland Valley Cable in 1991. Survivors include his loving wife, Anna P. Hord Neely, whom he married on November 18, 1950, one son, Jeff Neely of Somerset, one daughter, Jamie & (Tommy) Burton of Science Hill and three grandchildren, Katie Jo Neely of Somerset, Heather Burton of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Clay Burton of Science Hill. He was preceded in death to his Heavenly Home by his parents, Henry and Dorthy Neely and his cherished grandson, Brian Roberts, who died on November 20, 2003. A graveside service will be held at 1 PM Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Steve Hall officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pulaski Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
