Viola Grace Hammell

Viola Grace Villa Hammell, daughter of the late Frederick and Violet Burget Villa, was born on May 16, 1924 and she departed this life on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 having attained the age of 86 years. Viola was one of seventeen children. She was born in Hawaii and was raised in San Pedro, California. She moved to Monticello, Kentucky with daughter Ellen and son in law Sylvester in the month of September of 1999 until the present day. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters; one son, Raymond; one daughter, Rebecca. She is survived by three daughters, Donna, Ellen and Frances; three sons, Allen , Wayne and Owen, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, two sisters, Helen Phillips, and Vida Kidman, and three brothers, Hoover, Vincent and Virgil Villa. Viola dedicated her life to her being both mother and father to her children. She worked hard to give them the best life she possibly could. She touched many, many lives and everyone she came in contact with, adored her beautiful smile. She was just a very kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her and she leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Ryan officiating. The family of Mrs. Viola Hammell will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, February 14, 2011.
