James Joplin "Jop" Adams

Mr. James Joplin “Jop” Adams, son of the late James H. and Beatrice Meece Adams, was born in Somerset, KY on June 21, 1928 and he departed this life on Tuesday, February 1, 2011 having attained the age of 82 years. He was united in marriage to Mrs. Marion Jasper Adams, she preceded him in death. Survivors incude; one son; Mr. Steve Adams and his wife Toni of Berea, KY; one daughter, Paula K. Adams of Somerset, KY; one grandson, Eric Adams and his wife Shannon of Brentwood, TN; one great grand daughter, Hannah Adams also of Brentwood, TN; and two sisters, Ida Gooch and her husband Bill of Joplin, Missouri, and Maxine Gastineau of Dalton. Ga. Other than his parents and wife, he is also preceded in death by; one brother, Milton Adams. “Jop” was an Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of the Somerset First Methodist Church and a Charter Member of the Somerset Fire Department. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Somerset cemetery. The family of Mr. “Jop” Adams will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 12:00 noon on Friday until 1:30 p.m. then travel to the cemetery for the services. Military honors will be conducted at the Graveside by the American Legion Post # 38. In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Somerset Fire Department. Pulaski Funeral Home is honored to be in charge of all arrangements for Mr. James Joplin “Jop” Adams.
