Mrs. Alene Mayfield

Mrs. Alene Mayfield, daughter of the late George and Sara Prather Ping, was born in Pulaski Co., KY on August 9, 1933 and she departed this life on Friday, March 30, 2007 having attained the age of 73 years. She was united in marriage to Mr. Clovis Mayfield, he preceded her in death. Survivors include; four children, Richard (and Mary Jo) Lyons of Somerset, KY, Shelby C. (and Trish) Mayfield of Somerset, KY and Brian L. Mayfield of Somerset, KY and Judy Kay Thomas of Somerset, KY, twelve grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert (and Christine) Ping of Somerset, KY; and one sister, Lovie Ann Gossett of Ferguson, KY. Other than her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by; one child, Donald Lyons; six brothers, Frank, Clarence, Arthur, Vola,Andrew and Harrison Ping; and two sisters, Flonnie mae Ping and Otha Mary Ping. Alene attended the Old Fashioned Faith Baptist Church, she was a kind lady who will be greatly missed and she leaves a host of relatives who mourn her passing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Lowell Gossett officiating. Burial will follow in the Mill Springs National Cemetery. The family of Mrs. Alene Mayfield will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2007. Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of all funeral arrangements.
