Mr. Luther Hamm, son of the late R. C. and Lizzie Phelps Hamm, was born in Somerset, KY on October 19, 1914 and he departed this life peacefully in the presence of his family at Milford Gardens at The Arbors Assisted Living Facility, in Milford, OH having attained the age of 92 years.
He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Hamm on October 2, 1976 in Somerset, KY and she preceded him in death on December 24, 2004.
Survivors include; his former wife, and the mother of his children Mrs. Wilma Dawn Hamm of Elmwood Place, OH; one son, Mr. Gary Hamm of Cincinnati, OH; three daughters, Sandra Skaggs of Cincinnati, OH, Sharon Dakin of West Chester, OH, and Beverly Kersh of Williamsburg, OH; one sister, Clara Jones of Somerset, KY; eight grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He is also preceded in death by; one brother, Ray Ham; and two sisters, Myrtle Cross and Gertrude Perry.
Luther was a World War II Navy Veteran, and a member of the Parkview Baptist Church of Ft. Pierce, FL. He was also a retired sheet metal worker for General Electric and a member of the I.A.M. Machinist Lodge # 912.
He was a kind person who lived a full life and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He leaves a host of relatives and friends who mourn his passing, including nurses Monica Thompson, Trena Recker, Stephanie Lese, and Samantha Mayes. Special Aides were Terina, Tammy, Beth, Pat, Merry, Melissa, Mabel, Sarah, Rita and there were many other kind staff members that will miss him. He also leaves behind a very special friend, Miriam Cox.
The family of Mr. Luther Hamm will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 07, 2007. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 P.M. at the Somerset Cemetery, Somerset, Kentucky.
