Mr. Wayne Hargis, age 67 of Somerset, KY was born on May 25, 1939 and he passed away in the presence of his family on March 19, 2007. Survivors include; his wife, Joann Copenhaver Hargis whom he married in Jellico, TN on September 19, 1961; one son, Jeff (and Debbie) Hargis of Richmond, KY; two daughters, Lisa (and Darwin) Harris of Somerset, KY and Tracie (and Danny) Jackson of Somerset, KY; four grandchildren, Ashley Hargis, Brice Jackson, Bailey Jackson and Blade Jackson; one great grandchild, Emma Murphy; two brothers, Harold (and Betty) Hargis of Somerset, KY and Howard (and Mavis) Hargis of Somerset, KY; and eight sisters, Vera Hargis of Stanford, KY, Gladys (and Clell) Whitaker of Somerset, KY, Imogene (and Arnold) Stogsdill of Stanford, KY, Ella B Phelps of Somerset, KY, Jetta (and Wayne) Richardson of Somerset, KY, Nadine (and Wayne Lee) Phelps of Somerset, KY, Christine (and Carlos) Hargis of Somerset, KY and Violet(and Dewey) Hargis of Somerset, KY. Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by; two brothers-in-law, Ray Hargis and Phillip Phelps. Wayne was a salesperson for South Kentucky Mack for many years, he was a member of the Beacon Hill Baptist Church and a Vietnam War Army Veteran. He was a kind person who will be greatly missed by all who knew him and he leaves a host of relatives, friends and church family who both mourn his passing and celebrate his homegoing. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. om Thursday March 22, 2007 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. Sammie Adkins and Dr. John Mark Toby officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. The family of Mr. Wayne Hargis will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2007. In Leiu of flowers,the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Beacon Hill Baptist Church Building Fund, Hospice of Lake Cumberland or to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan. The staff and management of Pulaski Funeral Home are honored to be asked by his family to be in charge of the funeral arrangements of Mr. Wayne Hargis.
